So why is it that sometimes it feels like the whole world and it's dog is demanding brain space that you just don't have?

It's almost as if sometimes the universe has excess baggage hanging around in the ether and given that you're already having a major life malfunction it thinks..."there's a window of opportunity boys! Dump it down there, she's got so much going on she wont notice till it's too late!"

Well, being a dumping ground for the cosmos can be more of a drag than one might first suspect. Sometimes there are such powerful things knocking about... like little electrons orbiting your personal space, the negative charge affecting your otherwise positive demeanor and resulting in the unavoidable (it seems!) attraction of yet further negative influence!

Still, there is hope, it's not all doom... see what we attract, even the negative, is ours for the choosing in reality. You have to choose to let something into your personal space for it to affect you in a lasting negative way. Take for example, yesterday, quite a stressful day; after realising the day before that i was sposed to have written a statement, and that statement needed to be in first thing the next morning, obviously i started to panick. This would not have been too momentous a finding if a stable - or at least manageable state of mind was present at the time..... how ever unfortunaly for me, timing had another idea for me...

See the fortnight running up to this minor event had in actual fact rendered me mentally incapacitated. There is a point (and it happens many many times...how ever much you promise yourself it wont) where you wake up feeling like your insides have been drained in your sleep and your head has been stuck in a vice which is pressing most uncomfortably on your temples....... yes, the dreaded morning after the night before. Or perhaps the somewhat regular event (depending on where your social ties lie in the capital we call "home") ..the moment when you notice that you have to take the early morning transport home, and the sun may make it to your house before you do.........or worse....that you are on a bus with people who are on their way to work.....(although at the time these things can seem irelevent or even funny depending on the events of the evening!)
At times like those, something happens in your brain......a tiny part of you makes a decision, and that decision is one you hear, and intend with all honesty to implement... make a change in your behaviors... but one that unfortunately gets lost in light of the next few days as socialising takes its usual position of essential human right.

When one looks back over a period of weeks....even days, and realises that ability to separate that block of time into conventional 24hour slots..and attribute the appropriate happenings and activities to the correct time slot... has been lost, then it is time to do one of two things:
1) Carry on, as you were soldier.... you may as well, come on it was fun!

2) Mayday Mayday! Officer down! slippers and a therapist are the only hope!

Sometimes having your mind opened like a walnut with a hammer and a chisel is positive happening. Sometimes it results in total meltdown and straight jacket. Now, just to tell the difference.....

So, you've done the hard bit, you've got yourself all dressed up to the nines, you've made it out the door and you've even managed to get some sort of inhibition weakening liquid inside you (......the all so subtle pink liquid in a water bottle on the bus trick is my personal favourite, after all you're only going to hand over a fiver for that same damn thing once you get in to your destination anyway!)

Now if you have been lucky enough to have a like minded female on hand during the preparation period, before making it to the door and boarding chosen means of public transport, you will already be in the throws of a promising evening. Trusting that you have had the sense to indulge in some brain numbing liquid of your choice before hand, you should hopefully be in a state of fully fledged flirtatious awareness, and subsequently infuse your already well thought out attire with the all so irresistible glow of an all dancing all knowing goddess of the thurs/fri/sat night (or which ever night of the week you choose to be showing off your wondrous side) regiment.

Having gone through the usual drill of everything and anything that brought you to the point of reaching your desired destination, you arrive armed and ready for battle. Your main assailant, that which now surrounds you, full plumage on show, begins to circle, and the game begins.
Your eyes are a wash with opportunity, your brain has to respond quickly and with precision, this is no easy feat as although we are surrounded by our own kin and all on the same side in our war......on the battle field it is each to their own and every Amazon for herself!
A true Amazon warrior, a true goddess of the field must be honest and know that what ever her disposition... we are all cats on the prowl, ready to pounce and take down our prey, and that my lovelies, means claws are just under the surface, ready to be drawn at the first sign of attack from any other feline in line for the same prey.

Beware my pride of lioness's, some of us respond in a purring manor to the elixir of spirit + mixer, but some of us turn into alley cats and tear down all in their path with a spitting- hissing- scratching ritual........ know this, and do not get tangled in the unfortunate that will in turn break the one and only rule of our nightly endeavor ......always have fun.

The day is starting to close and make way for the night, the familiar feeling of creeping excitement begins to well up inside........ as outfit after outfit....... fashion statement after style blunder after vogue front cover rush through your well rehearsed finely tuned mind.........

Where to go......here there and everywhere.
What to drink......this that and all of the above.
What to do .....dance, drink and flirt till the sun comes up.

Most important rule ........ Always have fun.

If it ain't fun...don't do it.

If it doesn't feel right....... it's wrong (and not the good kind!)

Always laugh.

Be with those that make you laugh.

Always have someone who knows you well...

Know where you are, and how to get home.....(even if you end up at someone else's on the way!)

Know your strengths, and your weaknesses........and use them to YOUR advantage.......(they are yours after all)

We are warriors amazons of the everyday, this is our world, nature has given us our weapons and we are ready for war.
